Dorothy Mae Hall (nee Petersen), 88, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Saturday evening, July 19th, 2025 at home while surrounded by her family. She was born in South Euclid, OH on February 16th, 1937 to the late Clifford P. and Sarah (Wilson) Petersen. Dorothy is once again reunited with her loving husband, Donald D. Hall Sr., who died October 17th, 2007.
She grew up on a farm and enjoyed reminiscing about her childhood. Not long after graduating from Berkshire High School in 1955, she married the love of her life, Don, and together they raised 6 children.
Dorothy spent many years working with Don at Parkman Mini Mart and Hall’s Auction. She also worked as a cook at many nursing homes and hospitals throughout the years. Dorothy enjoyed cooking for her family and spending quality time with all of them. One of her greatest joys was attending her great-granddaughters, Kailee, Angel and Bethann’s softball games.
In her later years, she lived with her son, Casey and daughter, Tracy. Casey would often cook for her and check in on her during the day and on the weekends, Dorothy enjoyed going on long drives and running errands with Tracy, always taking her wherever she wanted to go.
Dorothy also filled her days reading and working on word search and fill-a-word puzzles. Her quick wit and sometimes brutal honesty will be missed by her family.
Dorothy will be greatly missed by: her children, Roy (Carol) Hall, Clifford “Skip” (Ella) Hall, Marian (John) Webber, Don (Sharon) Hall Jr., Tracy Hall, Casey Hall; 15 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; step-brother, Bill (Pat) Sallee; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She is preceded in death by: her parents, husband, Donald Sr; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters.
The family would like to thank our mother's care team Diane, Precious and Fawn from Hospice of the Western Reserve for their excellent care of our mother.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 1 PM, SATURDAY, JULY 26TH, 2025 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062 with Pastor Mike Continenza officiating.
