Donald D. Frost 84, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully in his favorite recliner Tuesday morning, March 23rd, 2021. He was born in Ponca City, OK on June 15th, 1936 to the late Robert and Iola (Brooks) Frost. He was raised alongside his late big brother, Ronnie, and his little sister, Jennifer Frost Golay.
He was a retired U.S. Navy Engineman Chief Petty Officer. Following his Navy career, Don worked as a diesel mechanic until retirement. He was also an active member of the Atwood-Mauck American Legion Post #459 in Burton, OH.
Don was a devout member of the Soka Gakkai International Buddhist Community. He enjoyed living every day and finding the best each had to offer. Don especially loved spending time with his grandchildren and visiting traveling, be it by car, plane or ship. At a drop of a hat, he was ready to go. Don enjoyed going to the casinos not to gamble but to watch the people.
He will be greatly missed by: his wife, Kathy Frost; children, Rickie Frost, Glinda Chavez; step-children, Bobby (Gina) Bolger, Suzzie (Froylan) Garcia-Vazquez; grandchildren, Esteban Chavez, Enrique Chavez, Steven Frost, Shannon Frost, Jared Frost; two special girls who adopted Don as their grandpa, Lily Grace and Sadie Lyn Busse; 7 great-grandchildren; his brother- in-law and sisters-in-law: Lexyle Frost, Carl and Ann Busse plus Martha & Robert Jones, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. All of whom Don loved. Also surviving Don are his three stepchildren that he raised with his late wife, Kay – Michael, Bridget and Tori. Predeceasing him were his brother, Ronnie Frost, and his sister, Jennifer Frost Golay.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT 6:00 P.M., MONDAY, MARCH 29TH, 2021 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD. The service will be conducted by the SGI-USA Oklahoma City Community Center and live streamed at the funeral home. Military honors will commence at 5:40 P.M. Family and friends will be received from 4:00 P.M. until the time of services. Per Don’s wishes, following the service, his ashes will be turned over to the U.S. Navy for a Burial at Sea in the Pacific Ocean.
