Debra A. Peterson, 66, of Middlefield, OH, passed away Tuesday afternoon, January 20th, 2026, at home, following a courageous battle with an extended illness. She was born in Warrensville Heights, OH, on July 15th, 1959, to the late Robert A. Foust and Bessie (Nelson) Thompson.
Debbie "Mom" was a very special woman whose presence touched everyone fortunate enough to know her. She was an amazing mother, a deeply loved sister, and a cherished friend to many who proudly called her their own. Her life was defined by love, courage, and an unwavering concern for others. She was an extraordinarily strong and courageous fighter, facing illness with grace, resilience, and determination. Even through her hardest moments, her heart remained focused on everyone else—always asking how others were doing, always putting their needs before her own. She had an adventurous spirit. Loved going up in hot air balloons, savoring the peace, thrill, and perspective that came from seeing the world from above.
Her two grandchildren were the light of her life and truly meant the world to her. The love she had for them was endless, and the bond they shared was something beautiful to witness.
To say she will be missed does not begin to scratch the surface of the impact her life had or the emptiness her passing leaves behind. Her kindness, strength, and generous spirit will live on in the
hearts of all who loved her. She would want everyone to know how deeply she loved them and how grateful she was for every moment shared. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and selflessness—and that legacy will never fade.
Debra will be greatly missed by: her two sons, Jason (Monica) Foust and Nate Peterson; grandchildren, Mason and Faith Foust; brother, Robert Foust; sister, Barb Foust-Walgenbach; and
many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, with calling hours from 10-11am and a service lead by Pastor Randy Kaser to follow at 11:30am. Arrangements have been entrusted to Best Funeral Home, Middlefield, OH. 440-632-0818. Online condolences may be sent at www.bestfunerals.com.
