David R. Smith Obituary

David R. Smith, 75, of Hambden Twp, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, October 8th, 2020 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born in Bedford, OH on September 11th, 1945 to the late Stanley and Elenore (Wass) Smith.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who served on the U.S.S. Randolph (CV-15). David was also a retired machinist who lived in California for more than twenty years before relocating back to Hambden in 2019. David was a soft-spoken and kind man who enjoyed helping others and working in his yard.

David will be greatly missed by: his sisters, Jennifer Henderson and Susan (Jay) Mahler; son, Shannon Smith; and many friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, Stanley and Elenore; brother, Danny Smith; and brother-in-law, Jerry Henderson.

Per David’s wishes, no services are to be held.
