Daniel J. Williamson

Daniel J. Williamson, 71, of Newbury, OH, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon, April 28th, 2025 at Mapleview County Villa in Chardon, OH. He was born in Chardon, OH on August 28th, 1953 to David and Betsy (Hull) Williamson. Daniel is once again reunited with his loving wife, Joan Chapman, who died April 19th, 2016.   

He graduated from Newbury High School in 1972 where he excelled in cross country and the chess team. Following high school, Daniel began working at Punderson State Park and then as a Bank Teller before finding his niche as a life-long Roofer. He also did a lot of handiwork in other areas of construction from time to time. Daniel was a skilled craftsman, enjoyed woodworking and creating things with his own design like a playground and fort for his children as well as one-of-a-kind pieces of furniture and decor.

In his younger days, Daniel enjoyed bowling and playing a mean game of pool. He liked listening to music, watching nostalgic reruns and movies, and birdwatching. Daniel also had a heart of gold with a free spirit and a soft spot for animals, especially cats and dogs.

Daniel always looked forward to hanging out with friends and playing cards. His greatest love though was his family and he cherished spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Daniel will be missed by: his daughter Ali (Jimmie Jr.) Parker; son, Kyle Williamson; father, David Williamson; grandsons, Jimmie Parker III and Blake Parker; brother, Barry Williamson; sisters, Kathy (Frank) Dragolich and Meri Lynn (Ray) Klingensmith; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his mother and wife, Joan.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
