Dan D. Byler, 80 years old, of Middlefield, Ohio passed away peacefully Monday morning, January 19th, 2026 at his home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Chardon, Ohio on October 13th, 1945 to the late Dan J. and Martha (Miller) Byler. Dan is once again reunited with his loving wife, Catherine, who died June 8th, 2023. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
He will be missed by: his children, Esther (William) Burkholder, Martha (Raymond Jr.) Burkholder, Melvin (Ida Marie) Byler, John (Arlene) Byler, Danny (Barbara) Byler, Nancy (Marvin) Byler, David (Lorena) Byler, Lester (Carol) Byler; nephew, Marty (Laura) Fisher; 50 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 2; sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dan is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Catherine; son, Billy Byler; 3 brothers; and 2 sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:00 AM, THURSDAY, JANUARY 22ND, 2026 AT 16855 HOSMER RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Jonathan D. Miller officiating. Pallbearers will be David Hostetler, John H. Byler, Robert Miller, and John Miller. Visitation will be anytime until the morning of the service at 16502 Farley Rd., Middlefield. Dan’s final resting place will be in Bundysburg Road Cemetery, Parkman, Ohio.
