Christopher John Borsi, age 64, of Chardon, passed away on Aug. 18, 2025. He was born on July 22, 1961, to Janet and John Borsi.
Chris discovered his love for the culinary arts as a teenager, getting his start washing dishes at The Inn at Fowler’s Mill. With drive and natural talent, he quickly rose through the ranks, earning a spot in a classic French chef apprenticeship program. Over the years, his career took him to some of the country’s most distinguished kitchens, including The Greenbrier in West Virginia, Gulf Stream Country Club in Florida and a resort on Nantucket Island.
While working at the Rancho Las Palmas Hotel in Palm Springs, Calif., Chris met his wife, Lourdes, with whom he shared a loving life. He went on to serve as sous chef at La Quinta Resort in California and the Marriott Downtown Chicago, before becoming executive chef at the Marriott Downtown Cleveland.
After many successful years in the kitchen, Chris returned to his first passion—truck driving— and spent his later career with Total Logistics in Euclid, Ohio.
Outside of work, Chris was happiest at home. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, cooking for his family, fishing and enjoying the outdoors.
He had a gift for turning simple moments into memories, whether it was building a fire in the backyard or even taking pride in cutting the grass.
He was a devoted father and grandfather, whose presence, humor and steady love will be deeply missed.
Chris is survived by his wife, Lourdes Borsi; parents, John and Janet Borsi; children, Anna Borsi and Jimmy (Lindsey) Borsi; grandchildren, Lennon Borsi and Valerie Borsi; and brothers, Craig (Donna) Borsi and Gary (Dawn) Borsi.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Janell Borsi.
Chris leaves behind a legacy of hard work, quiet devotion and deep love for his family. His memory will continue to live on in those who knew and cherished him.
