Charles “Charlie” E. Cook, 86, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, September 3rd, 2024 at home while surrounded by his family. He was born in Middlefield, OH on August 22nd, 1938 to the late Richard and Marvel (Hatch) Cook. Charlie is once again reunited with his loving wife of 42 years, Annette Cook, who died October 27, 2021.
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran who served stateside during the Korean War. Charlie spent many years working at Paul’s Do-It Center and Harrington’s Middlefield Hardware. He also worked at A&P Grocery Store where he was known as the “Cookie Man”. He enjoyed different types of food and building plastic models. When relaxing, he enjoyed playing hand held video games, sitting around campfires and spending time with his family and friends.
Charlie also served as Assistant Fire Chief for the Middlefield Fire Department from 1965-1980.
Charlie will be missed by: his children, Jeff (Barb) Cook, Eric (Jayanne) Cook, Lisa Cook, Kevin (Donna) Cook; step-children, Denise (Stu) Anderson, John “Buck” Loza II, Theresa (Mike) Duke, James (Colleen) Loza; grandchildren, Jonah Cook, Kayleigh (fiancée Joshua Banaszak) Cook, Caleb (Brooke) Cook, Seth (Lydia) Cook, Jordan Cook, Ethan (McKenna) Cook, step-grandchildren, Regina (Jeff) Picoult, Melinda (Eric) Kisner, James Loza Jr., Cassidy Loza, Brian Loza, Esther Loza, Justin (Deandra) Loza, Monica Loza, Morgan Loza, Brittany (Kevin) Baker, Aric (Sarah) Anderson; great-grandchildren Ezra, Kora and Rocko Cook; step-great-grandchildren, Lorna, Alexandra and Margaret Picoult and Elissa (Jeff) Fosnight, Lucy, Jackson, Joseph, Rynlee, Bentley, Ryan Loza, Jamie Loza, Jack Loza, Brentley Loza, Oliver Loza, and Lily Loza; step-great-great-grandchildren, Graycen and Caden Fosnight, London Johnson, Corbin Johnson, Matthias Baker, Rocky Baker, Lilah Baker, Eleanor Baker, Laney Anderson, Norah Anderson, Tayden Stewart; a great-granddaughter due in December and a fifth great-grandchild due in February; and many friends.
He is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Annette; 3 brothers; and 1 sister.
The family would like to thank Lisa and Richie Trask, their children and grandchildren, and other close friends for the great care and friendship over the last few years.
