Charles Kirch Obituary

Charles J. Kirch, 78, of Windsor passed away peacefully Sunday evening, August 9th, 2020 at his home and surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 15th, 1941 to the late Charles and Ruth (Goettel) Kirch. Charles later married the love of his life, Arleen Douglas on April 6th, 1964.

He was a proud U.S. Navy Veteran who enjoyed being a farmer at heart. Charles loved gardening and working with his old Farmall tractor and going to tractor pulls. He also liked taking his grandchildren and nephews to steam engine shows and teaching them how they worked.

During the winter months, Charles loved spending time down in Florida with Arleen.

Charles will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 56 years, Arleen; children, Mark (Jeanette) Kirch, Matthew Kirch, Beth Lynn (Stefan) Bjerling, Amy (Joe) Peterson; honorary family members, Elizabeth (Dave) Zemann, Melissa (Steve) Raughley, Tom (Anna) Lengerer; many grandchildren; great-grandchildren, Brodie and Brie; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents and honorary son, Elmer Busch.

Per Charles’ request, a private gathering of friends and family will be held.
