Charlene "Charlie" Traub Obituary

Charlene “Charlie” May Traub (nee Snyder), 74, of Stow, and formerly of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, passed away due to cancer, on Thursday morning, January 28th, 2021 at Heritage of Hudson Health and Rehab Center in Hudson, OH. She was born in Akron, Ohio, on September 11th, 1946, to the late Charles E. and Ida (Shaffer) Snyder.

For over 30 years, Charlie worked as registered veterinary technician at Akron Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital in Copley, OH. While at Metro, she was also an operating room supervisor, a position she held earnestly. Charlie had a passion for animals, especially dogs, and enjoyed spoiling her faithful companion, Al. Charlie loved the outdoors, fishing, gardening, and enjoyed science fiction. An avid sports fan, she could be found watching or listening to every Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns game. While she loved all music, especially dancing to it, Charlie most loved classic rock. Led Zeppelin and the song “Hang On Sloopy” are two things that brought a smile to her face in her final days.

Charlie will always be remembered for her strong work ethic, independence, sense of humor, and feistiness. Charlie will be dearly missed by her son, Danny (Sherri) Brown from her first marriage; children Charlene Traub, Pamela (fiancé Joseph Graham) Traub, and Eric (Mary) Traub from her second marriage; grandchildren Klover Brown and James Graham; brothers and sisters John, Nancy, Jimmy, and Billy; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Pamela.

Per Charlie’s wishes, a private gathering will be held at a later date in Pensacola, FL. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Charlie's memory to The Human Fund...or the Summit County Humane Society. Please see the donation section below for contact information.
