Bruce Johnson

Bruce Johnson, 72, of Chardon Twp, OH, passed away Tuesday morning, January 7th, 2025 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born in Dorset, OH on June 14th, 1952 to the late Warren E. and Martha (Kunar) Johnson.  

He graduated from Berkshire High School in 1971 and then began working as a machinist. Bruce loved listening to rock and roll music from the 60s and 70s, knowing nearly every song lyrics by heart. He also enjoyed mowing and going to tractor shows with his friends. He was a proud owner of a Ford 8N tractor and loved working and riding it.

Bruce loved spending time in Astor, Florida. He was blessed with an additional 6 years of life after his lung transplant at UH-Cleveland Medical Center. He was thankful for each additional day and truly enjoyed each day with all of his family and friends.

He will be greatly missed by: his sister, Candy Meadows; brother, Ron (Shirley) Johnson; companion of 10 years, Billie Veon; step-children, Jeff Keller, Jennifer Kreuz, John (Marilyn) Veon Jr., Ken (Christina) Veon, David (Danielle) Veon, Matthew (Yvonne) Veon, Bob (Josie) Veon, Luke (Jessica) Veon; sister-in-law, Rose Johnson; brother-in-law, Clarence Miller; step-grandchildren, Courtney, Tataum, Ethan, William, Benjamin, Bobby (Carrie), Dylan, Owen, Charlie, Izabella, Rebeka, Lexie, Emellia, Reilly, Beckham, Miles, Reese, Tripp,, Jackson, Sadie, Lincoln; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  

Bruce is preceded in death by: his parents; wife, Patricia (Keller) Johnson; siblings, Chuck and wife, Barb Johnson, Warren Johnson, Patricia and husband, Don Headley, Roger Johnson, Muriel  Miller; brother-in-law, Chuck Meadows; and step-grandchild, Zechariah Veon.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS WILL BE RECEIVED FROM 4:00-6:00 PM., FRIDAY, JANUARY 10TH, 2025 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 11TH at the funeral home with Pastor Mike Southern officiating. Bruce’s final resting place will be in Larned Cemetery, Chardon Twp, OH.
