Benjamin Harrison Blakeley III

Benjamin Harrison Blakeley III, 66, of West Farmington, OH, passed away peacefully Monday morning, February 9th, 2026, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warren, OH on February 28th, 1959, to the late Benjamin Harrison and Cora (Blose) Blakeley II.

He was a die-hard Cleveland fan who rarely missed a chance to cheer on his teams. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and loved being outside whenever he could. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was very caring and passionate about his family, and even though he fought numerous challenges, there wasn’t ever an obstacle standing in his way. He loved teaching the kids how to play ball — basketball, baseball, football, you name it, he knew it. He took anyone in under his wing and loved them as his own. The love he had for his family will never be forgotten.

Ben will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 42 years, Cathleen (Thompson) Blakeley; daughters, Marsha Troyer, Amber Olszak, and Stephanie (Tyler) Hulick; son, Ben Harrison Blakeley IV; grandchildren, Austin (Sydney) Troyer, Blake Troyer, Robert Matzek III, Annabelle Matzek, Easton Champion, Everly Champion, Emery Champion, Clayton Olszak and Christopher Olszak; great- grandchild Astrid Lynn Troyer; brother, Babe Swiger; sisters, Betsey Bright, Alice Werkin, and Donna Riley; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Margaret Cottrill, Rose “Peggy” Showers, Colleen “Susie” Duffy, and Mary Scott, and brother – in – law, Tim Bright.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Best Funeral Home to assist with Ben’s final arrangements. A Memorial Service will be held at the Bristol Township Hall on March 21st, 2026, from 2pm to 6pm. Arrangements have been entrusted to Best Funeral Home, Middlefield, OH. 440-632-0818.
