Ronald Whitcomb Fales, 86, of Middlefield, OH passed away peacefully Saturday morning, January 12th, 2019. He was in the comforts of his own home and surrounded by his family. Ronald was born in the same house on June 26th, 1932 to the late Fred L. and Hilda (Whitcomb) Fales. He married Elizabeth Ely on May 18th, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served just after the Korean War between 1953 and 1955. Upon his return from the Army, he worked as a Moldmaker at Wendell’s Mold and Machine, which later became Columbia Mold and Die, for over 28 years before his retirement.
Ronald was a member of the Painesville American Legion Post #336. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking, tinkering with cars, and spending time with his family.
He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of nearly 66 years, Elizabeth; children, Ron (Tammy) Fales, Helene (Lou) Laird, Angela (Robert) Moran, Cyndi Yoxall, Dee Ann (Ed) Tobin, Samantha Fales, Holli (Jack) Jackson; 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchildren; 1 brother; 2 sisters; and many friends. Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, 1 daughter, 2 grandchildren, 1 brother, and 1 sister.
