Robert “Bob” J. Kozelka Sr., 72, of Newbury, passed away peacefully early Monday morning, February 5th, 2018. He loved his family and cherished the times he spent with his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, animals, birds, and traveling. After 30 years, Bob retired from AT&T Engineering. He later took pride when his youngest son followed in his footsteps. During the years, Bob served as a Geauga County Deputy, a Newbury Volunteer Fireman, and was even one of the first Officers who started the Newbury Police Department.
He will be deeply missed by his beloved and devoted wife of 55 years, Janice (nee Ciccarello) Kozelka; Children, Robert J. Kozelka Jr. (Kathleen), Joseph E. Kozelka Sr. (Shana), Michelle M. Cole (John), Randall A. Kozelka Sr. (Jeanine); 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond Kozelka Sr.; and many friends. Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Beatrice Kozelka; and brother Edward “Jr” Kozelka.
Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM, Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at Best Funeral Home, 15809 Madison Rd., Middlefield, OH 44062. A Catholic Mass will be held at 11 AM, Friday, February 9th, 2018 at St. Helen’s Catholic Church, 12060 Kinsman Rd., Newbury, Ohio.
