Phil G. Porter, 83, of Parkman, OH passed away peacefully at Blossom Hill Health Care Residence Thursday afternoon, November 15th, 2018. He was born in Geneva, OH on August 25th, 1935 to the late Paul and Annette (Wiley) Porter.
In his younger days, Phil began visiting farms and learned to artificially inseminate cows and eventually became the first to inseminate a horse. He also enjoyed being around horses and dogs as well as engaging in lengthy conversations with many local farmers. He worked for 30 years at the General Motors Plant in Lordstown before retiring.
Phil is survived by: his loving wife, Helen (Spore); children, Phyllis (Bob) Difford of Warren, Jeff Porter of Middlefield, Brian (Diane) Porter of Wauseon, OH, Paul (Sophia) Porter of Middlefield; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and many friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents; son, Raymond Porter; and daughter, Annette Porter.
