Paul I. Petersen

Paul I. Petersen, 73, of Middlefield, OH passed away peacefully at Briar Hill Healthcare Residence in Middlefield Monday morning, July 15th, 2019. He was born in Cleveland, OH on March 27th, 1946 to the late Clifford P. and Sarah (Edgar) Petersen. Paul later married Joyce Swonger February 18th, 1978.

He worked previously at National Acme, Ohio Wide, Aramark, and with Pete Howes Auctioneering. It was the job he loved the most with his long-time friend of over 38 years, Pete Howes. Paul liked fishing, hunting, bowling, going to the Sale Barn, spending time at the Middlefield Mini-Mart with friends telling jokes and playing his lottery, taxiing many Amish friends and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

Paul will be greatly missed by: his loving wife of 41 years, Joyce Petersen; children, Clifford (Christy) Petersen, Paul John (Mary Beth) Petersen, Rusty Petersen, Randy Petersen; step-children, Tammy Sellers, Ron (Melissa) Johnson, Malissa (John) Dinishak, Brenda Masters; grandchildren, Kenneth, Alex, and Nathaniel Petersen, Brandon Johnson, Kortney Dinishak, Amy Sellers, Ryan Scott, Hunter Delp, Mira, Karah, and Arieanna Johnson, Cody and Christopher Hinkle; beloved sister, Dorothy Hall; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He is preceded in death by: his parents, brother, Kenneth Petersen, sisters, Jean Mog, Peggy Dinallo, Betty Lou Balzer; and brother-in-law, Don Hall.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 5 P.M., SUNDAY, JULY 21ST, 2019 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062 with Pastor Jim Elkin officiating. Family and friends will be received on Sunday from 2:00 P.M. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made to help defray Paul’s final expenses.
