Martha Ann (Canterbury) Ricker

Martha Ann Ricker (nee Canterbury), 77, of Burton, OH passed away peacefully at Burton Health Care Residence, Friday morning, December 6th, 2019. She was born in Cleveland, OH on September 8th, 1942 to the late John G. and Eloise L. (Heppes) Canterbury. Martha later married Paul D. Ricker on September 16th, 1968.

Martha was well known in Geauga County. She spent over 35 years volunteering for the Berkshire School District as well as the Troy Community.

She was known for her spunk and ability to know everything going on for the whole community.

Many always came to “Martha’s Kitchen” table on Sunday morning where the door was always open and the coffee always on. She left this world with the love of her family and the vast extended family that she welcomed in her heart and called her Sa.Sa.

Her generosity and supportive nature will always be remembered.

Martha leaves behind to mourn her loss: loving husband of 51 years, Paul; children, Shannon Canterbury, Darren “Rick” Ricker, MaryAnn Ricker; grandchildren, Britteny Griffith (TSgt, U.S.A.F.), Hannah Cernava, Meagan Ricker, Jessica Ricker; sisters, Margaret Lazzaro; Jacqueline (Robert) York; sister-in-law, Deloris Canterbury; and many friends.

She is preceded in death by: her parents and brother, Bill Canterbury.

A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD FROM 1:00 – 5:00 P.M., SATURDAY, DECEMBER 21ST, 2019 AT THE TROY COMMUNITY HOUSE, 13950 MAIN MARKET RD., TROY TWP, OH 44021. In lieu of flowers, donation in Martha’s memory are asked to be sent to the Troy Twp Volunteer Fire Department, 14019 Nash Rd., Burton, OH 44021.
