Mark S. Zorich, 69, of Downey, CA (formerly of Willoughby), passed away unexpectedly at UH-Geauga Medical Center, Monday morning, June 25th, 2018. He was born in East Cleveland on April 23rd, 1949 to George and Anna (Nekich) Zorich.
He graduated from Willoughby South High School where he was an outstanding football player and wrestler. After high school, Mark enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was stationed in California where he repaired helicopters during the Vietnam War. He then met his wife, Debra Abel, and together had two daughters. Mark then became an independent contractor as a “jack-of-all-trades” until his retirement. He enjoyed classic rock-n-roll music and went to many concerts. Mark’s greatest love though was spending time with his family and he will be dearly missed.
Mark is survived by: daughters, Jessica (Steve) Morrissey, Melissa (Manny) Cordova; mother, Anna Zorich; long-time companion, Marlys Barreiro; grandchildren, Chase Cordova, Abigail Shelton, Avery Cordova, Levi Morrissey; sisters, Deborah (Randy) Continenza, Julie (John) Ellingson; nieces and nephews, Nick, Adam, Dan, Amy, Ben, Maggie; and many friends. He is preceded in death by: his father, George Zorich, and brother, William Zorich.
A CELEBRATION OF LIFE WILL BE HELD AT 6 P.M. ON THURSDAY, JUNE 28TH, 2018 AT THE CHARDON TWP TOWN HALL, 9949 MENTOR RD, CHARDON TWP, OH 44024. Family and friends will be received from 4 P.M. until the time of the service.
