George Krupa, 90, of Middlefield, OH, passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, February 24th, 2019 at Briar Hill Healthcare Residence in Middlefield. He was born in Cleveland, OH on November 20th, 1928 to the late Steve and Eva (Lichvar) Krupa. George leaves behind his loving wife of 57 ½ years, Phyllis (Ashley) Krupa.
He retired from being a cost estimator after working 39 ½ years at Johnson Rubber in Middlefield. George loved traveling regionally around Western PA and Eastern OH playing the accordion with his brother John in the Krupa Brothers Polka Band.
George will be missed by: his loving wife, Phyllis; children, George (Sherrie) Krupa Jr., Kimberly Krupa; grandchildren, Etya Krupa, Samantha Krupa, Salina Krupa; great-grandson, Jaxson Urch; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, both locally and in Czechoslovakia. He is preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Ivan “John”, Mike, Steve; and sisters, Anna and Olga.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12 P.M., THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 28TH, 2019 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEIELD, OH 44062 with Father John Memorich of Archangel Michael Orthodox Church (Broadview Heights) officiating. Family and friends will be received from 9 A.M. until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Highland Park Cemetery in Beachwood, OH.
