Freeman A. Byler, 81, of Middlefield Twp, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning, August 2nd, 2018 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born in Burton, OH on March 1st, 1937 to the late Andy and Lydia (Troyer) Byler of Middlefield. He was a member of the Tourest Mennonite Church in Sarasota, FL.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sara Alice (Troyer) Byler, who he married June 19th, 1958. To this union were born 5 children; Barbara (Timothy) Stauffer of East Freedom, PA, Susan (Lynford) Miller of Eureka, NV; Lloyd (Rose Ann) Byler of Choteau, MT, Galen (Marian) Byler of Eureka, NV, and Juanita (Jason) Hochstetler of Bedford, PA. Freeman is also survived by 19 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lester and Andy; 3 sisters, Clara Miller, Lydiann Petersheim, Kathryn Byler; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Freeman is preceded in death by: his parents, 1 brother, Albin; 3 sisters, Anna Mullet, Irene Yoder, and Mary Bontrager.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 10 A.M., MONDAY, AUGUST 6TH, 2018 AT MAPLE VIEW MENNONITE CHURCH, 14890 BURTON WINDSOR RD., BURTON, OH 44021. Friends and family will be received on Sunday, August 5th, 2018 from 2-4 PM and 6-8 P.M. Freeman’s final resting place will be in Pilgrim Mennonite Church Cemetery, Middlefield Twp, OH.
