Elma Mae (nee Schmucker) Kempf, 89, of Middlefield Twp, passed away peacefully at Briar Hill Healthcare Residence in Middlefield, Thursday morning, February 15th, 2018. She was born in Troy Twp, OH on July 27th, 1928 to the late Joseph and Susan (Schmucker) Schmucker. Elma is once again reunited with her loving husband, Jacob J. Kempf, who died in December 1995. She was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.
She will be greatly missed by: children, Irene (Manas) Kuhns, Miriam (Eli) Miller, Mary Ellen (David) Mast, Nancy (Sam) Miller, Rachael (Enos) Slabaugh, John Henry (Cora) Kempf, Joseph (Esther) Kempf, Christina (Amos) Miller; 86 grandchildren; 329 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Elma is preceded in death by: her parents; loving husband, Jacob; daughter Barbara (and her husband, Mose) Byler; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 brothers; and 4 sisters.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 18TH, 2018 AT SAM D. MILLER’S RESIDENCE, 15316 HAYES RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH with Bishop Emanuel H. Kempf officiating. Pallbearers will be Dan Miller, Ervin Yoder, Elmer Byler, and Bill Schmucker. Visitation will be anytime until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Wilcox Road Cemetery in Mesopotamia, OH.
