Edmund “Ed” W. Gorski, 92, of Middlefield, passed away peacefully at UH-Geauga Medical Center Tuesday evening, June 26th, 2018. He was born in Fairpoint, OH on January 4th, 1926 to the late John and Stefania (Brubalska) Gorski. Ed is once again reunited with his loving wife, Rose, who died in December 2004.
He was a U.S. Navy World War II Veteran who served in the Pacific Fleet onboard the aircraft carrier USS MONTEREY (CVL-26). Following his military service, Ed worked as a machinist until he retired. He became a very active member in the American Legion Atwood-Mauck Post #459 in Burton, OH. Ed was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and he will be deeply missed.
Ed will be missed by: his son, Jim (Holly) Gorski; granddaughters, Amanda Stelling, Erin (Jeffrey) Hawes of Middlefield; and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Rose; and all of his siblings.
FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 12 PM, SATURDAY, JUNE 30TH, 2018 AT BEST FUNERAL HOME, 15809 MADISON RD., MIDDLEFIELD, OH 44062. Family and friends will be received Saturday from 10 AM until the time of the service. Ed’s interment will follow in Welton Cemetery, Burton, OH.
