Douglas F. Hansel, 44 of Burton, Ohio passed away unexpectedly from apparent natural causes on Saturday, September 22nd at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born October 1st, 1973 in Eastlake, OH to the late Robert and Arlah (Uterhark) Hansel.
He had a B.F.A. from Kent State University and did a glassblowing fellowship at Pilchuck Glass School in Washington State. Doug co-owned and operated Locally Blown Glass in Burton with his wife Daneal. Together they performed multiple glassblowing demonstrations at the Geauga County Fair for the past 8 years.
Doug is survived by: his loving wife of 9 years, Daneal; beloved son, Jack; brother, Michael (Meagan) Hansel of Columbus, aunt, Kathy Barnard of Pierpont: uncles, Gary Uterhark of Burton, Greg Uterhark of Chesterland; and cousins, Gary (Shari) Uterhark, Tim (Kelly) Uterhark, Chris Uterhark, and Dan (Leanne)Uterhark He is preceded in death by: his parents, Robert and Arlah (Uterhark) Hansel; and grandparents Art & Jane Uterhark, and Frank & Lil Hansel.
A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE HELD AT 12.P.M., SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 29TH, 2018 AT THE BURTON CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, 14558 WEST PARK ST., BURTON, OH. The will be an hour of fellowship for friends and family following the service.
