Berniece E. (Soltis) Baptie

Berniece E. Baptie (nee Soltis) 90, of Parkman, passed away peacefully at the Ames Hospice House in Westlake, OH Monday morning, November 27th, 2017. She was born in Parkman on April 19th, 1927 to the late Frank and Mary (Kedzuf) Soltis Sr. Berniece is now reunited with her loving husband, Kenneth J. Baptie, who died September 2nd, 1984.

She was a woman of many talents who was devoted to her family and home. Berniece, at an early age, learned hard work ethics from her parents. Over the years, Berniece learned how to do just about everything in a home. She enjoyed raising her four daughters, hand sewing their clothes and passing on the family tradition of hard work ethics. Berniece also loved ballroom dancing. She later managed multiple rental properties around Parkman.

Berniece will be greatly missed by: daughters, Diana Adams, Bonnie Swontek, Debi (Herb) Schreiber, Cindy (Mike) Derifield; grandchildren, April Adams, Nichol (Scott) Morrison, Jennifer (Geoff) Berman, Jon Swontek, Stefanie Swontek, Dr. Sarah (Dan) McKinley, Josh (Stephanie Sipp) Hendershott, Kevin (Blancha) Hendershott; 9 great-grandchildren; and many friends. She is preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Kenneth; son-in-law, Gary Swontek; and 7 siblings.

Family and friends will be received from 5-8 P.M., Friday, December 1st, 2017 at St. Edward's Chapel, 16150 Center St., Parkman, OH. A MEMORIAL MASS WILL BE HELD AT 10:00 A.M., SATURDAY, DECEMBER 2ND, 2017 AT ST. EDWARD'S CHURCH, 16150 CENTER ST., PARKMAN, OH. In lieu of flowers, donations in Berniece's memory are asked to be made to the Hospice of the Western Reserve, 17876 St. Clair Ave., Cleveland, Ohio 44110.
