Dear Reader,

It is with my deepest and most sincere condolences to the family and friends of Barry L. Lewis. I say the following: Barry was the coolest man I ever knew. We all wished we could have just 10% of what made Barry so uniquely different from the average bear. What is cool you say? Quick to elevate the mood with the telling of a story surely to make even the most downtrodden among us laugh hard until we cried. He was known for offering a kind word of encouragement for those around him as well. Sinatra wrote a very popular song called "My Way", Well...I am here to tell you, Barry was one of those true free spirits who actually lived out that song title. Barry helped form me and many others along life's rough road and I owe him a deep debt of gratitude. Barry too had his heroes, but that is for you to figure out and discover on your own. In the early days, I observed from close up and unfortunately at a distance for too long a period of time, that this kind, honest, hardworking and decent man had become someone we can all be proud of and emulate. Barry had true grit in his life and yes, sadly even in his departure from this life and into the eternal grace of the Lord our father in heaven. If he fell off his horse, and he did, he got back on and rode back to camp with a grin on his face and soil from head to toe. Barry's faithfulness to family, friends, and his dreams was truly the mark of the man himself. Barry was a true believer in God and was not afraid to express it. Barry got it! And guess what, today, this very hour, Barry knows the full Glory of rest in the heavenly realm told to us down through the ages. Join Barry and his family in prayer and thanksgiving for his life and times....the stories I'm sure, are just beginning to be told around the tables of friends and individual families. I know, I've witnessed it first hand and wow! What a life lived! May God Bless Barry's beautiful family, his lovely wife Cristine, Daughter Dian Brown and her US Marine husband Zach Brown, their daughter Ava Brown and youngest daughter Katlyn Lewis. Happy trails, fair winds and following seas. Jerry.
