Philip L. Kontur

 

November 28, 1932 - November 1, 2011

 

Philip L. Kontur, 78, of Middlefield, entered eternal rest early Tuesday morning, November 1, 2011 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Cleveland on November 28, 1932 to the late Lillian and Willie Pettge. Philip married Elizabeth Byler on November 18, 1963.  

 

He is a U.S. Army Korean War Veteran. Philip worked at Warner and Swasey Co. in Cleveland and was a semi-truck and Amish taxi driver. He enjoyed racing and building cars, watching NASCAR, and spending time with his family.    

 

Philip will be missed by: his loving wife of 48 years, Elizabeth; children, Philip David (Barbara) Kontur, Sandra Miller, Ronald (Kim) Kontur, Donna Kontur, Kathryn (Scott) Adams, Linda (Patrick) O'Hara, Sally (James) Riebe, Susan Haley, Miranda Kontur, Rhonda (Neil) Garvin; 1 brother; 29 grand-children; and 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: daughter, Lora Wall; 1st wife, Pearl Inez; 1 sister; granddaughter, Elizabeth; and son-in-law, Barry Haley.  

 

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., FRIDAY, NOVEMBER 4, 2011 at christ covenant church, 16406 kinsman rd, mIDDLEFIELD, OH. Friends will be received from 5-8PM, Thursday, November 3, 2011 at the Church. Philip's final resting place will be in Middlefield Cemetery.
