Duane A. Grafton

Duane A. Grafton, 74, of Middlefield, OH, passed away Tuesday night, April 16, 2024 at UH-Geauga Medical Center. He was born in East Liverpool, OH on May 17, 1949 to William R. and Doris (Bodie) Grafton. Duane later married Lona Deasey-Whiteman on February 14th, 2020.

Duane attended Wellsville High School. He enlisted and served in the Navy from 1968 to 1970, stationed on the USS Albany. After being honorably discharged, he worked at Penn Power until he retired in 2000. Duane retired to Tavares, Florida, where he could fish all year long! He moved back home to Ohio in 2019 to start his new life with Lona.

Duane enjoyed “everything to do with cars”, whether it was working on, driving, buying, or selling them! No surprise he enjoyed watching Nascar. Duane was a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan. His absolutely most favorite thing to do was going out to eat! Duane always enjoyed joking around and making people laugh. He loved spending time with his friends and family and absolutely adored his furry friends Ladybug and Sevi.

Duane was a generous and loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by: his loving wife, Lona; mother, Doris Grafton; sister, Debbie Hinchliffe; children, Josh (Rosalyn) Grafton and Erika Grafton; step-children, Susan (Carl) Judge and Jason Alford; grandchildren, Alexis Gibas, Gabby Alardo, and Chloe Alardo; step-grandchildren, Travis and Colton; nephew William (Jodie) Hinchliffe; great nephews, Aaron Hinchliffe, Ashton Hinchliffe, and Trevor Siefke; great niece, Taylor Siefke.

He is preceded in death by: his father, William Grafton; brother-in-law, Tom (Debbie) Hinchliffe; niece, Tammy (Joe) Siefke.

To honor Duane’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. Thank you for understanding during this difficult time.
