Simon W. Gingerich

Simon W. Gingerich, 87, of Burton Twp, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, May 9th, 2015 at home surrounded by his family. He was born in Burton on October 9th, 1927 to the late William and Barbara (Yoder) Gingerich. Simon later married Clara M. (Miller) on April 18th, 1957. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He will be missed by: his loving wife of 58 years, Clara; children, Paul Gingerich, Martha (William) Detweiler, Sara (Robert) Hershberger, Mary Ann (Paul) Byler, Walter (Cindy Lynn) Gingerich, Alma (Enos) Miller, Ruth (Melvin Ray) Miller, Barbara (Ervin) Byler; 38 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers; 6 sisters; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Simon is preceded in death by: his parents; son, Chester Gingerich; 2 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 1 brother; and 1 sister.

FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD AT 9:30 A.M., TUESDAY, MAY 12TH, 2015 AT 15043 GINGERICH RD., BURTON TWP with Bishop Roman Troyer officiating. Visitation will be anytime until the time of service. Simon's final resting place will be in Yoder Cemetery, Parkman, OH.
