Orile Ellen (Herst) Whitcomb

February 11, 1926 ~ January 10, 2018 (age 91) 91 Years Old


Orile Ellen Whitcomb (nee Herst), 91 years 11 months, of Burton, went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ Wednesday evening, January 10th, 2018. She was born in Youngstown, OH on February 11th, 1926 to the late Ernie J. and Oralee (Bond) Herst. Shirley is once again reunited with: her loving husband, Earl M. Whitcomb, who died June 10th, 1988; parents; and brothers, Warner, Ward, Eugene, Elton, Ernie Jr., Richard; and nephew, Steve Herst.

She was a homemaker, a wife, a mother, and a grandmother. Orile was also a sister, an aunt, and a best friend forever to many. She enjoyed many different projects, "cooking", sewing and making quilts, house painting, building a new back porch on her home in Glenrock, WY, and repairing her own front porch on her home in Warren, OH. She even helped build a deck platform for Darla Weirick in Chardon and screening in her front porch in Ohio. Orile also liked to plant flower gardens at each of her homes. She loved reading her Bible ever since she was saved by the Lord when she was 10 years old. Orile spent time "daily" praying for missionaries and others all over the world. She also loved reading books about other countries and watching documentaries on television. Orile further loved watching football. She had attended Abundant Life Church of God in Middlefield until being unable due to health problems.

Orile will be missed by: grandson, Aerr (Charity) Eltringham; niece, Rosa Lee Herst of Burton; nephews, Ernie (Mary) Herst of Gaylord, MI, Warner Herst of Burton; Ward (Florence) Herst of Burton; Lalor (Bertha) Herst of Middlefield, OH; She is also survived by her extended family in Wyoming; Jim (Barbara) Pratt and their children, Scott and Taphie; the Blanche Faunche Family; Pastor Cletis (Esther) Jeffcoat and their children, Shelby and Montana; and many friends.

Rosa Lee Herst was her caregiver and companion in all that Orile was involved in, during her life, while in Warren, OH and Burton, OH. They were building Stuff Buddies and going shopping for bargains.

A private family only service will be held with Sheila Crawford of Shofar Ministries officiating. Kim Jackson "Medicine Horn" will also be performing Native American Indian Burial Rites. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be sent to Rosa Lee Herst, 14720 S. Cheshire St., Burton, OH 44021 to assist with Orile's final expenses. Orile will be laid to rest following the private services next to her husband, Earl, in Shadyside Cemetery, Auburn Corners, OH.
