Lucinda Sharp-Gates

Lucinda Sharp-Gates, 72, of Parkman, surrounded by love, passed away peacefully Thursday evening, December 14th, 2017, at the David Simpson Hospice House in Cleveland. She was born in Philadelphia, PA on September 24th, 1945 to the late Robert and Linda (Orne-Heacock) Sharp II.

She earned a B.S. Degree from Hiram College and then a M.B.A. from Baldwin-Wallace Univ. Lucinda worked many years as a Real Estate Broker in her business, Gates Real Estate Concepts. She enjoyed helping strangers become neighbors in their new homes. Lucinda was also a co-owner and the Operations Manager of the Cleveland Parachute Center for over 20 years. While doing so, she founded and operated Second Wind, hot air balloon repair.

Lucinda continued serving the community as a former Parkman Twp Trustee for many terms and also as a Board Member of the Great Geauga County Fair with a focus on Fine Arts. She also served as part of the National Ski Patrol-Ohio Region Team. Lucinda enjoyed life and loved to travel, especially overseas. She also liked horseback riding and was a devout member of the Quaker Third Haven Society of Friends in Easton, MD.

Lucinda will be greatly missed by: her daughter, Esther (John) Gates; sister, Cecily Sharp-Whitehill; nephew, Robert (Mary) Whitehill with their son, Beau Whitehill; dear friend, Dub; step-children, Christy, Cathy, Bob, Maria, and Mike; granddogs, Maeve, Luna, Vern; and many friends. She is preceded in death by her parents.
