Gerald "Jerry" M. Reed

Gerald "Jerry" M. Reed, 84, of Middlefield Twp, passed away peacefully Saturday afternoon, November 21st, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Warren, OH on November 12th, 1931 to the late Robert and Ottilie (Young) Reed.

Jerry retired from Ohio Rubber in Willoughby after 34 years working as a color matcher in the lab. He then became a security officer at Kraftmaid for 14 years before fully retiring to spend more time with his loving wife, Beverly, and family. Jerry was an active member at Lighthouse UMC in Claridon and enjoyed fishing, golfing, bowling, and traveling on Anderson Bus Tours.

He will be missed by: his wife of 58 years, Beverly (Nece) Reed; children, Barbara (Hugh) Mason, William "Bill" (Lynn) Reed, Connie (James) Korby, Kevin (Joy) Reed; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; brothers, Wayne (Dorothy) Reed, Fritz Reed; sister-in-laws, Ann Reed, Althea Reed; and many friends. Jerry is preceded in death by: his parents, first wife, Beverly (Ritchey) Reed; 1 great-grandchild; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.

A MEMORIAL SERVICE WILL BE FROM 2:00 P.M., SATURDAY, DECEMBER 12TH, 2015 AT LIGHTHOUSE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 14780 MAYFIELD RD, EAST CLARIDON, OH 44033 with Rev. Karen Cico officiating. Family and friends will be received from 12:00 P.M. until the time of the service at the Church also on Saturday, December 12th. Interment will take place in Middlefield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to be made in Jerry's honor to Lighthouse United Methodist Church.
