Fred "Zeke" C. Vondrasek Jr., 80, of Newbury, passed away peacefully at UH-Geauga Medical Center, Tuesday evening, January 23rd, 2018. He was born in Cleveland, OH on July 31st, 1937 to the late Fred C. and Dorothy (Jedlicka) Vondrasek Sr. Zeke later married Jan Novello on September 4th, 1981.
He worked as a Lineman for Ohio Bell Telephone Company and was a member of Communications Workers of America #4340 before retiring after 39 years.
Fred then began his own business called "Zeke's Recycling". He was also a very talented woodworker and enjoyed making cabinets. Zeke especially loved passing knowledge on to his grandson, Derek, where they built many projects together. He also loved animals, especially his cats and dogs. Zeke even liked to visit the horses on Lisa's farm. He was a gentle and kind soul and will be deeply missed.
Zeke leaves behind to mourn: his loving wife of 36 years, Jan; children, Frederick (Cathy) Vondrasek, Jeff Vondrasek, Lisa (Chuck) Swango; grandchildren, Derek Swango, Cassandra Swango; siblings, Nancy Kosch, William Vondrasek, Dolly Vondrasek; lifelong best friend, Jeff Brinkerhoff; and many friends. He is preceded in death by: his parents; sister, Gayle Clark; brother-in-law, John Kosch; and sister-n-law, Linda Vondrasek.
