Betty J. Hanshew (nee Jesse), 78, of Mantua, passed away peacefully Tuesday morning, June 14th, 2016 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Grundy, VA on June 21st, 1937 to the late Ralph R. and Mary Jesse Sr. Betty is now reunited with her loving husband, James Hanshew, who died August 23rd, 2000.

She will be greatly missed by: children, Terri (Bret) Godley of Mantua, James Michael (Terri) Hanshew of Phoenix, AZ; 5 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Kathy Hanshew; sisters, Myrtle Wood and Virginia Milam; and many friends. Betty is preceded in death by: her loving husband, James; her parents; son, Jeffrey Hanshew; and siblings, Matt Jesse, Artemis Jesse, and Ralph Jesse Jr.
